Fishing in Alaska is like no other fishing in the world. Whether you are an occasional fisherman or pride yourself in being an angler, you will soon realize why Alaska fishing differs. Unlike many parts of the world, Alaska has an overwhelming abundance of fresh and saltwater species.

You can choose to try your luck fishing Alaska's fresh water streams, for world class salmon. Or you may want to fish on Alaska's coastal waters in pursuit of barn door size halibut, salmon, rockfish, Sea Bass and Ling Cod as well as Alaskan spotted shrimp.

Below is a schedule and information on our fishing season. This will help you in your vacation plans. For further information see the Contact Ron at the bottom of the page.

Fish limits and possession restrictions per person:

Halibut and king salmon: Two a day, four in possession.
Red, chum and pink salmon: Six a day, twelve in possession total salmon
Silver salmon: Limit of three. total of 6 / 3 can be frozen
Yellow-eye rockfish: Limit of two.
Black rockfish: Five a day, ten in possession.
Ling cod: Two a day, four in possession.

Catch and release in also an option if you catch more fish than you can/want to keep.

May 1 - June 20

Early May can produce some snow, but it is still an excellent time to visit
Prince William Sound, whether you are fishing or black bear hunting. Halibut fishing is very good with some fish going over 100 pounds. King salmon is excellent and range from 10 to 40 pounds. These ocean bright fish are very exciting to catch and in my opinion are the best eating of all the salmon species. Chum salmon are also caught and a good fighter. We have our shrimp pots out after the fist week of May and catch spot shrimp throughout the season. Killer whales, porpoise, seals, sea lions and otters are also seen throughout the season.

June 20 - July 15

Halibut fishing continues to be excellent. King salmon fishing is slowing, but sockeye (red) salmon become our main target salmon species. We usually fish from shore when we catch these beauties. Pink salmon start to appear and are a blast to catch on lighter tackle as they average about 3 pounds.

July 15 - August 15

Silver salmon start showing up in good numbers and we either jig or troll in saltwater for them. Halibut fishing continues to be excellent. Salmon sharks become plentiful and are very exciting to catch.

August 15 - September 15

Silvers move into the streams and some of our fishing is done on shore. Halibut fishing continues to be excellent. September 1st black bear hunting season opens.

October 1 - November 15

Deer and duck hunting is excellent. Halibut fishing is fair and king salmon again is excellent.
